Kids in Motion Pediatric Therapy, through its Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy programs, helps children achieve their full potential.

Marcie and her Kids in Motion team create treatment programs that integrate the child’s caregivers into the therapy process. This philosophy helps strengthen family bonds while helping the family members who are the child’s caregivers.

Evaluations vary from child to child, depending on age, capabilities, or physical or cognitive development. However, every evaluation is conducted in a manner that minimizes stress for the child with the goal of the evaluation being a process the child enjoys.

Some children will need information about the evaluation ahead of time. For younger children, we recommend that you tell them they are coming to Kids in Motion to play. For older children, depending on the areas of concern you are coming to Kids in Motion for, you may want to tell your child that they will be playing games that help us see how they use their eyes and hands, how they play and move their body, how they are able to follow directions or express themselves. Please reassure your child that this will be a fun experience and that you will be with them throughout the visit.

Physical therapy is often beneficial for children who are experiencing:

  • Developmental delays
  • Congenital or acquired orthopedic impairments (i.e. torticollis)

The Kids in Motion program strives to achieve the highest standards in physical, occupational and speech therapy by providing its services in an environment that is clean, safe and stimulating for both mind and body. Following Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) which states that early intervention services “are provided in natural environments, including the home, and community settings in which children without disabilities participate” (Sec. 632(4) (G), (H)), the Kids in Motion center is similar to an indoor playground or children’s fitness center. Our therapists also provide services under Parts B and C of IDEA to the surrounding school districts and have a solid understanding of therapeutic services required to allow a child to access the campus or curriculum to optimize learning.
