Mariel Laguitan, OTD, OTR/L earned her Master’s and Doctorate of Occupational Therapy from Loma Linda University. Before coming to Kids in Motion, Mariel had years of experience as a pediatric occupational therapist working in the school setting. Mariel has her 3rd-degree black belt in taekwondo, was on the US national team, and taught the sport to people of all ages. Her research about taekwondo and social participation in children with special needs is published in the Open Journal of Occupational Therapy. She is passionate about working with children to help create meaningful learning opportunities. She is dedicated to lifelong learning to help the children and families she will work with. Mariel is looking forward to sharing her experiences and growing more as a therapist at Kids in Motion.
